Good afternoon and welcome to Hawkesbury City Council Extraordinary Meeting of the 7th of August 2026. I'd like to welcome all those attending the meeting. We don't have a gallery, so thank you, councillors.

I start by acknowledging Hawkesbury City Council acknowledges the Darug and Dharawal people, the traditional custodians of the land of the Hawkesbury. We pay respect to all Elders past and present and emerging, and acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders people as first people of this country.

There's a full emergency procedure that needs to be read. Even though we don't have members of the public, members of the public attending the meeting are advised that in the event of an emergency, you will be asked to proceed in an orderly manner to the nearest exit following the guidance of our warden. I would also like to advise that in accordance with Clause 5.34 of the Code of Meeting Practice, meetings of the Council are recorded. In the terms of this policy and the Personal Information Protection Act, this may involve the recording of personal information provided at the time of this meeting. The recordings are made to assist staff in compiling the minutes of the meeting and to enable the podcasting and live stream for Council meetings.

The provisions of any information that is recorded is voluntary. If any person does not wish to be recorded, they should not address or request to address the meeting. The gallery can be seen in the live stream video. If you do not wish to be recorded in the live stream, please move to the foyer and we will turn the foyer speakers on. The recording may be made available to other persons where such in accordance with the relevant regulations, the recordings are stored on Council's recording management system and uploaded to Council's website. Meetings of Council may be separately recorded with the prior authorisation of Council. Finally, it is also requested that if any person participating attending the meeting has a mobile phone, that they either turn it off or turn it to silent.

Councillors, during the meeting... The closed meeting. Council resolved that Council adopt the confidential recommendation in regard to the offer for the position of General Manager as detailed in the Mayoral Minute. Subject to negotiations of a contract in accordance with the standard contract for employment of a General Manager as approved by the Department Chief Executive. Point two. The Mayor be authorised to negotiate a total remuneration package with the select candidate as detailed in the recommendations of the Mayoral Minute. If negotiations of a contract, as detailed in the report, are not successful, Council proceed as detailed in the recommendations of the Mayoral Minute. Point three.
